Lewis Gillhespy to lead Technical Excellence Practice at Rockflow

February 03, 2026

Rockflow, one of the UK’s most trusted independent expert subsurface and management advisory firms, is pleased to announce the appointment of Lewis Gillhespy as Practice Lead for Technical Excellence.

Leading the Technical Excellence Practice reflects Lewis’ consistent technical delivery, clear and trusted client guidance, and development of a disciplined “Rockflow Way” that further strengthens technical capability and standards, enabling clients to receive higher-quality work at lower-cost. As Practice Lead, Lewis will take on the added responsibility for supporting existing clients, quality assurance to project work, and attracting new clients.

With more than 25 years’ experience across the upstream energy value chain, Lewis brings deep expertise spanning geoscience, field development, digital transformation, project delivery, and commercial M&A. Since joining Rockflow, he has played a pivotal role in delivering high-value technical assurance, due diligence, independent reserves assessments, and expert advisory work for clients across the global energy sector. He has also been instrumental in building and scaling Rockflow’s Transformation and Change Consulting capability, helping clients unlock value through data, digital, and organisational change.

As Practice Lead for Technical Excellence, Lewis will lead and develop Rockflow’s community of technical experts, setting the benchmark for quality, rigour, and consistency across all technical work. The role will see him actively shaping best practice, and ensuring Rockflow continues to deliver trusted, independent advice on its most complex and high-stakes assignments.

In addition to technical leadership, Lewis will play a key role in business development, working closely with clients and colleagues to identify new opportunities, develop propositions, and translate technical excellence into sustained commercial growth. Lewis takes over the role from Nev Jones.

Andy Spriggs, CEO of Rockflow, commented “Lewis embodies what technical excellence looks like at Rockflow – deep expertise, sound judgement, and the ability to lead people and clients through complex challenges. This role recognises his impact to date and the leadership he brings to both our technical community and our growth ambitions.”

Lewis added: “I’m proud to take on the role of Practice Lead for Technical Excellence. Rockflow’s reputation is built on trusted advice and technical credibility, and I’m excited to lead and develop our experts while continuing to help clients make confident, high-quality decisions in an increasingly complex energy landscape.”

Rockflow is a leading independent energy consultancy, combining subsurface, technical, digital, and commercial expertise to help upstream organisations solve complex challenges and unlock value. Lewis’s appointment further reinforces Rockflow’s commitment to technical excellence, leadership development, and sustainable growth.

Please join us in congratulating Lewis Gillhespy on his appointment as Practice Lead for Technical Excellence.
